Who is Maritech?

Maritech Services Limited designs, develops and brings to market software and digital applications for the maritime industry. Maritech Services Limited is part of the Clarkson PLC Group but wholly separated from the broking, banking, support and research functions. Maritech Services Limited licenses the Sea/ platform and the modules within it and provides ongoing support and module updates to licence holders. Our purpose is to bring transformative digital solutions to the day-to-day freight transaction process enabling the industry to meet the demands created by growth in complexity, regulation, population and innovation. In doing so, we are shaping and futureproofing the industry in a responsible, professional, compliant and sustainable manner.

Responsible governance.

The Maritech group of companies comprise the wholly owned and independently managed shipping and offshore software business of Clarkson PLC. Maritech Services Limited is the customer facing software provider and licensor of a suite of digital shipping and offshore applications branded under the Sea/ brand.

To ensure separation / segregation of functions, management, customer data and information between Maritech’s technology entities and the rest of the Clarkson’s group and notably its broking entities, the following governance has been put in place:

Infrastructure Separation – The Sea/ product suite is housed in a hardware infrastructure that is separate from ALL other parts of the Clarkson’s group.

Support Separation – Support for the Sea/ product suite is provided independently by a separately staffed Maritech team with its own support call infrastructure in a separate physical location to other parts of the Clarkson’s group.

Data Separation – Ownership of core customer data remains with the customer of Maritech and is only accessible by Maritech staff and customer staff. Brokers have NO access to any Sea/ data unless they are themselves the broker of record for such transactions.

Governance Separation – No director of the Maritech group is an active broker or banker. All governance decisions are made by either the board of Clarkson PLC or IT executives who are managers of Maritech and entirely independent of other parts of the Clarkson’s group.

Development Separation – Developers for all modules within the Sea/ product suite are physically segregated in a separate office space from employees of other parts of the Clarkson’s group.
